Our Breeding Practices
Our breeding program is built around proven controlled line breeding and we are selective about using lines that hunt for us. Our line of German Shorthairs is genetically sound and bred for the foot hunter. Our goal is to produce a versatile gun dog that is comfortable at home in the house or out in the field working for you in the pursuit of upland game or in the lakes and ponds for waterfowl. We strive to provide the best German Shorthairs available and are dedicated to our customers.
To ensure that our breeding stock conforms to our standards and your expectations we participate in various tests, in particular AKC Hunt Tests and NAVHDA Tests along with input from our customers. Our dogs participate in AKC and NAVHDA hunt test events and are proven performers with undeniable results. In AKC hunt tests all have attained their Master Hunt Title before two years of age. When running in the NAVHDA Natural Ability tests, Prize 1 Titles were awarded.
At Wild Flush Kennel we are committed to developing a line of easy training, highly driven bird dogs that can be raised with the family and perform in the field, blind or test grounds. Our goal is to improve the breed with each mating that we make. Trait selection, testing, customer feedback and hunting this line across North America are a good means of measurement. Our line hunts for us; not for themselves.

Mia is one of the most biddable shorthairs we have ever trained. She achieved her AKC Master Title at 15 months of age in just three weekends.
Mia’s high level of intelligence and natural abilities are evident every time she hit’s the field. She has a great style on point and covers the field with flare. Mia is out of Top Gun Higgins Lil Princess Di MH, 2010 AKC Hunt Test Dam of the year and her grand sires are Jaegerhofs Sir Henry Higgins MH Hunt Test Sire of the year 2008 and VC Jacob vd Westwind MH Hunt Test Sire of the Year 2002. Mia is living up to our expectations as a great foundation for our kennel.

We had to purchase “Money” after watching her develop into a very complete hunting dog and knowing her pedigree could move our breeding program forward. Money was entered in a 35-dog stake chucker challenge at 18 months of age competing with with professional trainers and breeders for high stakes and won the event.
Money finished her senior and master hunt test legs passing 100%—receiving a perfect score of 60—with her final leg judged by two honorable and experienced judges in Bennie Nelson and Gary Ellinger. She passed every hunt test leg entered and with the highest scores earned.
Money is one of several proven Bond offspring out of Top Gun Kallie. This female will leave a mark in this breed by offering a great balance of desire to please and prey drive in a very stylish 45-pound package.

We purchased Mav as a pup and he has never disappointed. Weather in the field or around the house Mav has always done what is expected of him.
His eagerness to please along with his drive in the field to find birds made him fun and easy to train. With his willingness to learn and his many natural abilities Mav received his AKC Master Title at 14 months of age. With Mav’s excellent nose and enthusiasm in the field and in the water many memorable moments have been made. Mav has produced some great offspring that continue to impress and improve the breed. As with all our dogs, Mav is outstanding in the field and a joy to have in the home.

Payton is a great little dog with a willingness to please, a little bit of independence and a lot of desire. Payton achieved her AKC Master Title at 23 months of age with very minimal training. Payton has a close to medium range and easily adapts from the plains of the Dakota’s to the grouse woods of Minnesota. Payton has produced pups that share her wealth of independent spirit and determination.
Top Gun Indy MH - "Indy"

Indy is a dog with style, determination and a passion to out perform all others in the field. She achieved her AKC Master Title at 16 months of age and has never looked back. Always moving forward and excelling in the field and the water Indy continues to impress. She is comfortable posting a push in the Dakotas, making a retrieve from the water, tracking a crippled pheasant, scouring the woods for grouse or relaxing in the house.
